Advanced Diagnostics

A physical examination alone is sometimes not enough to diagnose elusive pet health problems. Family Veterinary Care of Oakdale is equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment, and we can quickly and accurately evaluate your four-legged friend and develop a treatment plan that gets them on track to feeling better, faster.

Imaging

Imaging tests allow us to “see” inside your pet’s body. Our veterinarians frequently use our in-house X-ray and ultrasound machines to evaluate bones, soft tissues, organs, and other internal structures. When your pet’s diagnosis is unclear, we can send images to a radiologist for expert advice, and we can also access a mobile CT unit when your pet requires more advanced imaging.

Rigid endoscopy

A rigid endoscope is a thin, rigid tube with a light source and camera at the end. Our team can insert the scope in a body cavity or joint to visualize tissues, remove foreign material, and take biopsies, as needed. Our team primarily uses the endoscope on comfortably sedated pets to examine and diagnose nose, throat, and ear conditions. We are proud to offer this advanced diagnostic tool, which is rarely available to general practice patients.
